STRIVE FOR COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE
Virtual College Exploration Week
April 20-23, 2020
Three full days of virtual presentations for juniors to explore college opportunities
Free of charge for students and colleges
Team up with other institutions and submit a session proposal
Registration will close Friday, April 3, but we expect all timeslots will be filled before then, so act fast! Proposal will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Given the finite number of session timeslots available and to provide the best experience and exposure for students, all sessions will be panel presentations.
Minimum of Three Unique Institutions
Each college must partner with two or more other colleges (minimum of three unique institutions total) to form a panel presentation and submit a proposal.
We are broadly considering two different types of presentation topics:
General college knowledge:
Colleges may present on general informational topics that may be of interest to the target audience of juniors/underclassmen and their families. For example: Paying for College, Essay Writing, the Value of a Liberal Arts Education, Video Game Design Programs, or LGBTQ Student Issues. Be creative! Colleges are encouraged to present on topics of access and equity.
Colleges with a shared affinity, characteristic, or geography:
Groups of colleges may present about their institutions that share some commonality. For example: the BIG10 colleges, HBCUs, Public Colleges in the Northwest, Liberal Arts Colleges in the Midwest.
All sessions begin at the top of each hour and are 45 minutes long. We recommend approximately 30 minutes be allocated for prepared materials with 15 minutes for questions and answers.
Incomplete Proposals Will Not Be Accepted
Incomplete proposal or proposals with “TBD” will not be accepted until they are finalized and co-presenters are confirmed. Please do not submit until ready.
